Welcome to Her Deepest Ecologies!
My name is Jessica Gigot and I created this Substack last year. Her Deepest Ecologies is a place to talk about ecological grief, creativity, and the intersection of art and science. As the mother of two, young girls I can’t help but think about all the faces of mothering that exist and affect us as well.
I am guided by two main questions:
How do we care for ourselves and each other?
How do we nurture the Earth?
Her Deepest Ecologies has three parts:

Writing Group-Environmentalists Anonymous
This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at Village Books. I also post a synopsis of our discussion as well as writing prompts for people to join online.
My intention is to create pathways to hope amidst, quite honestly, a very dark time in our collective history. I am an environmental writer and I also run a small farm in the Pacific Northwest. I was a teacher for many years and I love bringing people together, especially around issues connected to place, food, and nature.

Thanks for your interest and I look forward to connecting more soon! The majority of this content is free, including the podcast and writing group, but paid subscriptions are available if you want to support my work.
