In springtime, it’s hard to talk about decline, death, loss, catastrophe. This vibrant green scene popped out at me the other day and filled me with a moment of hope and joy after a long day of worry and fear.
I am awakening after a long winter.
I am re-emerging after a long quarantine.
And I want to connect with you.
Her Deepest Ecologies is a weekly newsletter. It is a place to talk about ecological grief and embodied ecopoetics (I will define this in an upcoming post). How do we think about and talk about climate change? As the mother of two, young girls I can’t help but think about all the faces of mothering that exist and affect us.
How do we care for ourselves and each other?
How do we nurture the Earth?
Through personal essays, interviews, book reviews, and eventually a podcast I want to tackle these questions with honesty and creativity. I want to meet new people and connect with them one-on-one and share these encounters and their work in the world with you. My intention is to create pathways to hope amidst, quite honestly, a very dark time in our collective history.
My first official post will be on April 22,2022. Earth Day.
New posts will come out weekly on Fridays. If you enjoy the content, there is an option to be a paid subscriber. Or read for free. Thank you for your interest and for reading this introduction.
Onward in to spring and a new beginning for us all…
