Love the connections you're drawing between these books. I always feel pretty ignorant when it comes to nature, but I was actually reading something today that compared the disconnection of individuals from their bodies to the disconnection humans feel from nature. Embodiment would mean connecting to the earth through our physical experience of it.
I have realized that the "nature writers" I most resonate with are the ones who came to this work from a place of deep trauma and or seeking. Mary Oliver and Barry Lopez as examples, but there are many. Their ability to write so intimately about place seems, in my opinion, to also come from a deep need for healing which I find interesting and instructive. Thanks for reading!
Two of my favorite books, too, but neither is new. Braiding Sweetgrass came out in 2012 and The Body Keeps the Score in 2014. How many books published more than a decade ago have any sales at all? They are both examples to follow.

Love Mary Oliver! Haven't read Barry Lopez, adding him to my TBR now...
